Winnipeg Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec is being pursued by a team in the Kontinental Hockey League according to recent reports.
The potential deal is rumoured to be a one-year contract worth “big money” according to Elliotte Friedman of Hockey Night in Canada, but Pavelec’s agent Allan Walsh did not confirm or deny whether the reports are true. “I have no comment on Ondrej Pavelec at this time,” Walsh told canoe.ca.
Pavelec, a native of Czech Republic, is scheduled to become a restricted free agent on July 1. His salary cap hit was $1.15 million in 2011-12.
The 24-year-old is coming off a career year with the Jets; in 68 appearances he posted a 29-28-9 record, four shutouts, a .906 save percentage and a 2.91 goals-against average.
