Zac Rinaldo receives another five-game suspension in AHL

Watch as Zac Rinaldo of the Boston Bruins hits Tampa Bay Lightning forward Cedric Paquette with a questionable high hit.

Zac Rinaldo has been suspended five games by the American Hockey League on Monday after receiving a match penalty for an illegal check to the head.

Rinaldo, who is currently suspended for five games in the NHL, was assessed the penalty while playing for the Providence Bruins on March 4.

Rinaldo was ejected after appearing to hit Bridgeport’s Kane Lafranchise in the back of the head with a forearm shiver.

It was the 25-year-old’s first AHL game since being demoted by the Boston Bruins.

Rinaldo has a goal and two assists in 52 games this season for the Bruins.

The NHL suspended the Hamilton native on March 1 after catching Tampa Bay Lightning forward Cedric Paquette on the right side of the head with a high hit.
