QMJHL roundup: Islanders come back, beat Titan

BATHURST, N.B. — The Charlottetown Islanders scored four times in the third period — including twice on the power play — as they came from behind to defeat the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 4-2 on Thursday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Daniel Sprong and Filip Chlapik scored 1:07 apart with the man advantage early in the third to erase Acadie-Bathurst’s 1-0 lead while Guillaume Rioux-Legault and Ryan MacKinnon added the others for the Islanders (3-1-1).

Mark Simpson and Raphael Corriveau supplied the scoring for the Titan (1-4-0), who have dropped four straight outings, and Alexandre Gosselin assisted on both.

Charlottetown’s Mason McDonald made 28 saves for the win while Acadie-Bathurst’s Jacob Brennan allowed four goals on 19 shots in defeat.
