Jets prospect Morrissey traded to Rockets

Winnipeg Jets prospect and Prince Albert Raiders defenceman Josh Morrissey has been traded to the Kelowna Rockets.

The Rockets also acquired forward Gage Quinney in exchange for Austin Glover and Jesse Lees as well as bantam draft picks in 2016 and 2017, according to the team’s official website.

Morrissey is regarded as one of the best defenceman in the WHL and is expected to be one of the leaders for Canada at the World Junior Championship in Montreal and Toronto.

The 19-year-old was drafted 13th overall in 2013 by the Jets. He’s scored seven goals and 14 assists in 21 games so far this season.
