Eriksson nets a pair as Sweden beats Finland

Watch as Loui Eriksson notched his second goal of the game on another pass from one of the Sedin twins.

GOTHENBURG, Sweden — Loui Eriksson and Patric Hornqvist scored twice each to lead Sweden past Finland 6-3 in the rivals’ second warmup game for the World Cup of Hockey on Saturday.

Eriksson signed with the Vancouver Canucks this off-season and his likely linemates set him up on the power play for both his goals.

Henrik Sedin found Eriksson in front on a 5-on-3 to open the scoring at 8:56 of the first period, and it was Daniel Sedin who found Eriksson in front at 18:06 to give Sweden a 2-0 lead going into the second period.

On Thursday, Finland won 3-2 in Helsinki in overtime.

Rasmus Ristolainen and captain Mikko Koivu scored 3:05 apart in the middle period for Finland to cut the Swedish lead to 3-2 after Eriksson netted his two in the opening period and Hornqvist added one in the second.

Nicklas Backstrom, Hornqvist, and Filip Forsberg sealed the Swedish victory with goals in the final period.

Erik Haula scored the third for Finland.

The tournament opens next weekend in Toronto.

Finland faces the United States in its final warmup on Tuesday, while Sweden meets Team Europe on Wednesday.
