World Cup team Twitter accounts have had fun all tournament

The World Cup of Hockey has brought with it not only some incredibly entertaining hockey, but also some world class twittering from each team’s official account.

The star of the tournament so far is the official English account of Team Russia, whose honesty and slightly awkward phrasing has made it something of a must-follow for the past week.

Here’s a quick sample from Russia’s disappointing opening loss to Sweden:

And here’s how Russia’s first two goals against Finland were described on Thursday:

The Team North America account, which was counting on a Russian loss, wasn’t as upbeat:

There was still some optimism to be found however, despite Finland’s two-goal deficit:

Spirits were still high after Evgeni Malkin gave Russia a 3-0 advantage.

North America might be eliminated, but one of its players did catch the eye of Team Canada:

Team Europe, which will face Sweden in the semifinals on Sunday, wasn’t shy about bringing up its convincing 6-2 win over the Swedes in pre-tournament play:
