I want to thank everyone for their feedback on my UFC 79 picks. I got a kick out of how passionate a few of you are. It's good for the sport and makes for entertaining reading.
My predictions all came to fruition except for the Luis Cane disqualification against James Irvin. I don't think anyone picked that result.
For those who criticized my predictions, and have been busy eating crow since the event ended, don't feel bad. Mixed martial arts is the most difficult sport to predict. Trends, streaks, styles and past fights can help give the "experts" an idea of who will win but there are no guarantees.
A lucky punch, a mistake and personal problems have all affected the outcomes. Here's what I see developing from UFC 79: A rematch between Clementi and Guillard could be marketed and the undefeated Machida has to be put up against a legit 205-pounder in his next fight.
Despite the win, Chuck still doesn't have a K.O. in three fights, although in his defence, Wanderlei is not the easiest guy to put to sleep. Liddell's not built for decisions. He needs to start knocking guys out again if he wants his belt back.
Georges St.Pierre was so dominant, don't be surprised if Matt Serra's back injury never heals.
I'm looking forward to UFC 80. I'm going to do my research and I know you'll do yours.

Really Chuck's win didnt prove anything
any one can win by descision
There needs to be a rematch because the fight was not defiantive
still Wanderlei is a better fighter than Chuck because of the who Quinton Jackson deal.
And i know your goign to bring this up RJ about UFC fighters supposedly being better than fighters from Pride.
But when you look at how many fights they have had and the fact is that the only former Pride fighters loosing are the old Pride stars from Chute Boxe. Shogun and Wanderlei. Im not counting Anderson Silva because really he didnt take off until after he got brutally Subbed by Ryo Chonan (can).
But when you really look at it, if Pride fighters were so over hyped, why are they carrying 2 of the 5 and soon to be 3 of the 5 UFC Championship belts. Big Nog will beat Tim Sylvia and i will tell you why. The Nogueria brothers have the best chins in MMA, bar-none. So even if Tim and Rodrigo go at it, Nog can take a punch. See all 3 of the fights where he foguht Fedor. Right now it is like this
Pride fighters overall> UFC fighters overall
UFC fighters> former Chute Boxe stars
And RJ, you shouldnt taunt otehr people's predictions, you have made lots of horrible calls in the past (see Chuck Liddell vs Quinton Jackson 2 even though I posted a video of the first fight for you here).
Anyway, what are your predictins for M-1's Yarrenoka?
you should post them, i want to see your judgement on Yoshihiro Akiyama vs Kazuo Misaki and Fedor Emeilianenko vs Hong Man Choi
fedor, actually you brought up the Pride fighters, not RJ - and this blog is about UFC Fighters.
PS - Spell Check
"Georges St.Pierre was so dominant, don't be surprised if Matt Serra's back injury never heals." -RJ Broadhead
That's funny - and I totally agree with you on that one!!!
GSP has looked so dominant in his wrestling in his last two fights (against two of the most highly touted wrestlers in the UFC) - yet he gets no respect for that part of his game, but maybe that will change going forward.
If he can keep his head on straight and come into his future fights with the same focus he has had since losing to Serra I expect GSP will have a long, long, reign at the top of the Welter weight division - quite frankly who else is there? Diego Sanchez v. St-Pierre may be a good tilt...
Once GSP gets by Serra Karo Parisyan needs to finally get his chance. I think GSP is the best in the division but if there is someone that is able to challenge him in the ground it's Karo.
GSP got his shot after his injury but Karo had to start from the bottom again after his.
He is an under rated fighter because people think he has a boring style. That should have no bearing on him getting a title shot.
But I'm a Judo guy and that's just my opinion.
