A source close to Canadian middleweight Jason (Dooms) Day has confirmed to Sportsnet that the Alberta native will be taking on Hawaii's Kendall (Da Spyder) Grove at UFC 96.

While no bouts have been announced for the Mar. 7 event in Columbus, Ohio, reports have surfaced that the two would meet in a middleweight clash.

Day (17-6 overall) is coming off a TKO loss to Michael Bisping at UFC 85 last June. The Canadian will be looking to rebound in Ohio by adding to an already-impressive resume that includes wins over Alan Belcher, David Loiseau and Jonathan Goulet and a stretch of 10 wins in 11 bouts before his loss to Bisping.

In his last bout, Grove (11-5 overall) earned a split-decision over Evan Tanner in The Ultimate Fighter 7 finale this past summer. Before that win, The Ultimate Fighter 3 winner had dropped his previous two bouts, including a stoppage loss to Canadian Patrick Cote at UFC 74.
