Randy Couture defeated Mark Coleman by rear naked choke at 1:09 of the second round.

Chael Sonnen defeated Nate Marquardt by unanimous decision (30-27).

Sonnen looked amazing in the fight, dominating basically three full rounds with his wrestling. Marquardt had multiple chances to end the fight with a submission but couldn't quite get it. He also managed to open a deep cut on Sonnen's forehead with an elbow from his back, which produced a lot of blood, but it wasn't enough to end it.

With the win, Sonnen earned a shot at the middleweight title, which Anderson Silva will first defend against Vitor Belfort.

Afterward, Sonnen said he was worried about the fight being stopped a couple of times. First when he was cut and then during a guillotine choke near the end.

Marquardt meanwhile said he used the wrong gameplan. He did not want to allow himself to be taken down the way he was but gave the opportunity by standing and trading with Sonnen.

Paulo Thiago defeated Mike Swick by D'Arce choke at 1:54 of the second round.

Demian Maia defeated Dan Miller by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).

Matt Serra defeated Frank Trigg by knockout due to strikes at 2:23 of the first round.

Serra looked good in this one, keeping his distance and waiting for the right opportunity. He eventually threw a knockout overhand right, countering a right by Trigg that missed. He followed that up with three quick straight rights to the head of Trigg as he lay defenseless on his back before the referee stopped it.

Mac Danzig defeated Justin Buchholz by unanimous decision (29-28).

Melvin Guillard defeated Ronys Torres by unanimous decision (29-28).

Rob Emerson defeated Phillipe Nover by unanimous decision (scores not announced).

Phil Davis defeated Brian Stann by unanimous decision (scores not announced).

Chris Tuchscherer defeated Tim Hague by majority decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-28).

Hague is from Edmonton.

Joey Beltran defeated Rolles Gracie by TKO due to strikes at 1:31 of the second round.
