Krzysztof Soszynski defeated Stephan Bonnar by TKO due to a cut from a punch at 1:04 of the third round.

Canadian Krzysztof Soszynski is from Winnipeg.

On replay, it was clear that an accidental clashing of heads is what caused the cut to Bonnar's forehead just above the eye. Blood was pouring out of his head as they tried to fight. The referee halted it and the doctor called a stop to the fight. Bonnar was upset, thinking he could keep going. The referee thought the cut was from a punch, and Soszynski was awarded the TKO victory instead of it being called a no-contest. Soszynski was recognized the unfortunate circumstance under which the fight ended and was gracious in victory.
