Jason (The Athlete) MacDonald will replace fellow Canadian Denis Kang in the main event of W-1: Bad Blood, March 20 in Montreal, where he will take on Vernon White.
Kang was forced to pull out of the matchup with an injury he suffered in training. A source told sportsnet.ca Thursday MacDonald has verbally agreed to take the fight.
MacDonald, the former UFC veteran, is coming off a win by decision over Solomon Hutcherson at MFC 23 in Edmonton in December. The March fight will be the Red Deer fighter’s third since being released by the UFC last April following two straight losses in the Octagon.
