Brock Lesnar’s next defence of his UFC heavyweight title will take place in Anaheim this fall.

The organization’s president Dana White confirmed over the weekend the anticipated matchup pitting Lesnar (5-1) against No. 1 contender Cain Velasquez (8-0) is set for UFC 121 on Oct. 23 at the Honda Center.

Lesnar is coming off a stunning come-from-behind submission of Shane Carwin (12-1) at UFC 116 the previous weekend in Las Vegas. It will be the second straight fight Lesnar takes on an unbeaten fighter.

Also expected to be on the card will be London, Ont.’s Sam Stout facing Englishmen Paul Taylor in a lightweight contest. Both fighters are coming off decision losses.

NOTES: Strikeforce: Houston will feature two championship bouts. The Aug. 21 event at the Toyota Center will see Muhammed (King Mo) Lawal defend his light-heavyweight belt against Rafael (Feijao) Cavalcante while Tim Kennedy and Ronaldo (Jacare) Souza will battle for the organization’s vacant middleweight title. Also on the card, Jorge Gurgel meets K.J. Noons, and Bobby Lashley will fight an opponent to be named later.
