SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Unbeaten heavyweight Bobby Lashley will face Tucson firefighter Chad Griggs at the Aug. 21 "Strikeforce: Houston" mixed martial arts card.

In the main event at the Toyota Center, Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion (King) Mo Lawal makes the first defence of his 205-pound title against Rafael (Feijao).

The co-main event pits Ronaldo (Jacare) Souza against Tim Kennedy for the vacant Strikeforce middleweight title.

Griggs (8-1) is a veteran of the International Fighting League who currently works for the Tucson Fire Department. Six of his eight wins came in the first round.

Lashley (5-0) is a former WWE and TNA pro wrestling star. The six-foot-three 250-pounder, a former NAIA collegiate wrestling champion, is coming off a first-round TKO won over UFC veteran Wes Sims.

NOTES -- Canadian Denis Kang takes on former WEC champion Paulo Filho at Sunday's Impact Fighting Championship card in Sydney, Australia. The card also marks the return of English welterweight Paul (Semtex) Daley, cut by the UFC for sucker-punching Josh Koscheck after the final bell at UFC 13 in Montreal. ... Keith (The Dean of Mean) Jardine starts his post-UFC career against Trevor Prangley in the main event of Shark Fights 13 in Amarillo, Texas, on Sept. 11. Jardine was cut by the UFC after his recent loss to Matt (The Hammer) Hamill.
