Canadian Sean Pierson will take on (Stun Gun) Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 141 on Dec. 30 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, a source told Sportsnet Monday.
The main event on the card is a heavyweight contender bout between former UFC champion Brock Lesnar and the newly signed Alistair Overeem, formerly the Strikeforce title-holder.
Later Monday, the UFC confirmed the matchup on its website.
Pierson (11-5) is coming off a first-round KO at the hands of Jake Ellenberger at UFC 129 in April. The 35-year-old from Pickering, Ont., won his UFC debut, taking a decision from Matt Riddle at UFC 124.
Kim (14-1-1 with one no contest) lost a decision to Carlos Condit last time out at UFC 132.
Former champion Alistair Overeem will meet Brock Lesnar at the MGM Grand Garden Arena card.
Other previously announced UFC 141 fights include light-heavyweights Alexander (The Mauler) Gustafsson and Vladimir (The Janitor) Matyushenko and welterweights Jon Fitch and Johny Hendricks.
