The UFC has confirmed that light-heavyweight champion Jon (Bones) Jones will face former title-holder Rashad Evans at UFC 145 in Atlanta on April 21.
The two former training partners have been at odds since Jones stepped in for the injured Evans to face champion Mauricio (Shogun) Evans at UFC 128 in March 2011.
Jones beat Rua and Evans left Jackson's MMA in Albuquerque to train in Florida.
Evans (22-1-1) is coming off a decision over Phil (Mr. Wonderful) Davis on a televised show in Chicago last month. Jones (15-1) submitted former champion Lyoto (The Dragon) Machida last time out at UFC 140 in Toronto in December.
NOTES -- Filming has started on "The Ultimate Fighter Brazil," the UFC's first regional take on its long-running reality TV show. The coaches are Wanderlei (The Axe Murderer) Silva and Vitor (The Phenom) Belfort ... Ricky Goodall (9-4) is replacing the injured Tyson Steele (knee) against welterweight Ryan (The Real Deal) Ford on the AMMA 9 card Saturday in Edmonton. Welterweight Sheldon Westcott also has a new opponent in Jay Jensen (7-6), who steps in for Dave Cochran.
