Angela Lee and Ben Askren are the two biggest stars in One Championship and both showed why at Friday’s Dynasty of Heroes event in Singapore.
The Vancouver-born Lee improved to 8-0 as a professional as she submitted Istela Nunes, defending her atomweight title for the second time. The 20-year-old sunk in an anaconda choke on Nunes in the second round of their 105-pound contest. Seven of her eight career victories have been via submission.
Meanwhile, Askren defended his welterweight title with an arm-triangle choke submission win over Agilan Thani. Askren (16-0, 1 NC) is a former Bellator champion and considered the best welterweight not currently in either the UFC or Bellator.
