Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino sent a message to the world when she dismantled Leslie Smith in her UFC debut at UFC 198 in May. That message being she’s the best fighter in all of women’s mixed martial arts.
The Invicta FC featherweight champion is now set to return to the Octagon in the main event of a Sept. 24 Fight Night card in Brasilia, Brazil when she meets Sweden’s Lina Lansberg in a 140-pound catchweight bout.
The UFC confirmed the booking Thursday afternoon.
Lansberg, 34, is 6-1 in MMA and hasn’t lost since her pro debut back in 2012. Like Justino, Lansberg is known for her aggressive Muay Thai-based striking attack.
Justino is 16-1 with one no contest and 14 of those wins have been by KO/TKO. The 31-year-old hasn’t lost since her professional debut back in 2005 and has a huge following, especially in her native Brazil.
The UFC also announced former UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao will fight Phillipe Nover in the co-main event and veteran heavyweights Roy Nelson and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva are set to throw down on the main card.
Other fights at the event made official by the UFC include: Francisco Trinaldo vs. Paul Felder, Erick Silva vs. Brandon Thatch, Michel Prazeres vs. Gilbert Burns, Jussier Formiga vs. Dustin Ortiz, Rani Yahya vs. Michinori Tanaka, Renato Moicano vs. Mike De La Torre, Joaquim Silva vs. Gregor Gillespie, Luan Chagas vs. Shinsho Anzai, Vicente Luque vs. Hector Urbina, and Alan Patrick vs. Stevie Ray.
