B.J. Penn and Frankie Edgar will renew hostilities in the main event of the TUF 19 Finale on July 6 in Las Vegas.

The trilogy bout between two former UFC lightweight champions will take place in the featherweight division.

Edgar (16-4-1) is 1-1 since dropping to the 145-pound division. The 31-year-old is coming off a win over Charles Oliveira at UFC 162 in December.

Penn (16-9-2) hasn’t competed since he briefly announced his retirement following a one-sided decision loss to Canadian welterweight contender Rory MacDonald in December 2012. The Hawaiian, who is also a former UFC welterweight champ, has won just once in his last six fights.

The 34-year-old Penn has never fought in the featherweight division and has struggled with stamina issues in the past, however a source told Sportsnet that Penn is taking his conditioning extremely seriously for this fight and that he is walking around at around 160 pounds.

Edgar edged Penn at UFC 112 to claim the lightweight belt and defeated him again at UFC 118; both wins were by unanimous decision.

TUF 19 will feature fighters from the middleweight and light-heavyweight divisions. Penn was previously a coach on season five of TUF, which produced stars like Nate Diaz, Gray Maynard, Joe Lauzon, Manny Gamburyan, Matt Wiman, and Cole Miller.

The live finale will be the second of back-to-back events in Las Vegas that weekend. UFC 175 takes place the day prior and the TUF 19 Finale will close out the 2014 UFC International Fight Week.
