A light-heavyweight title bout between Jones Jones and Glover Teixeira is now slated to headline UFC 171 on March 15 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, according to UFC Tonight.
The organization has yet to make an official announcement regarding the bout. The Jones-Teixeira matchup was originally announced as the UFC 169 headliner, but the UFC instead decided to make Dominick Cruz vs. Renan Barao plus Jose Aldo vs. Ricardo Lamas the featured bouts on that card instead.
Jones and Teixeira were then expected to headline UFC 170 on Feb. 22 in Las Vegas, but Jones had to withdraw from the event as he was still recovering from his epic, five-round battle against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 165.
Jones (19-1) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Gustafsson in Toronto in September, which was his sixth consecutive title defence.
Teixeira (22-2) is unbeaten in the UFC, has won 20 consecutive fights dating back to 2006 and coming off a first-round knockout win over Ryan Bader in September.
No other bouts have been announced for UFC 171 to date.
