Sudbury, Ont.’s Mitch Gagnon won this third straight fight in the UFC after earning a unanimous decision over Tim Gorman in the opening bout of the night at the TUF Nations Finale Wednesday in Quebec City.
The two bantamweights began by trading punches, with Gagnon landing several solid body shots before attempting multiple guillotine chokes.
In the second round, Gagnon displayed impressive takedown defence as Gorman aimed to bring the fight to the mat. The Canadian found success from both orthodox and southpaw stance and attempted a few more guillotine to no avail.
Gagnon decided to take Gorman down in the third and mixed up his attack to great effect. Gagnon improved to 11-2, with all of his pro fights taking place in Canada.
Gorman, who was forced off of TUF 18 with injuries, fell to 8-3.
