Former Strikeforce champion Sarah Kaufman of Victoria is headed to the UFC.

The UFC now has 10 female 135-pound fighters under contract including title-holder champion (Rowdy) Ronda Rousey and Alexis Davis of Port Colbourne, Ont.

Kauman, 27, won the Strikeforce title in February 2010 when she beat Takayo Hashi by decision. She lost the title two fights later to Marloes Coenen.

Last August, she lost her bid to get the title back when she was submitted by Rousey in 54 seconds.

Rousey has since been appointed UFC champion and made her first title defence last Saturday in Anaheim, submitting Liz Carnouche.

Before heading to the UFC, Kaufman (15-2) will fight Leslie Smith at Invicta FC 5 in April.

Kaufman holds wins over Carmouche and Davis.
