Starting Lineup: McGregor has no shot against Mayweather

Brendan Dunlop and Jeff Blair fill in for Tim and Sid and talk with boxing analyst Steve Bunch about the theatre surrounding the Mayweather and McGregor fight as well as the popularity of boxing in England.

Boxing expert Steve Bunce is convinced the likelihood of UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor beating Floyd Mayweather in their upcoming fight is nil.

Appearing on Sportsnet 590 The Fan’s Starting Lineup, Bunce said McGregor “has absolutely no chance, no chance whatsoever” to defeat Mayweather in their Aug. 26 boxing bout.

BBC Radio’s Bunce took it a step further, adding the 29-year-old Irish star might not even land a punch.

“No matter how good he is at whatever sport he is involved in, he cannot switch sports and beat one of the greatest defensive fighters in history,” Bunce said.

Mayweather, 40, has a perfect 49-0 record as a boxer.
