White: If GSP beats Diaz, Silva fight will happen

With the UFC on Fox 6 just a few days away, Showdown Joe caught up with UFC president Dana White in Chicago.

While Saturday’s Demetrious Johnson-John Dodson featherweight title fight and Quinton (Rampage) Jackson’s UFC future were among the topics discussed, White made an interesting comment regarding the outcome of March’s UFC 158: Georges St-Pierre vs. Nick Diaz.

When asked whether the possibility of a GSP-Anderson Silva tilt was still alive, White didn’t dance around the question.

“If he wins this next fight (against Diaz), that fight is still there,” said White. “That fight’s gonna happen unless he loses.”

GSP won his last bout against Carlos Condit by a unanimous decision, while Diaz lost his last fight, also to Condit, by a unanimous decision.

UFC 158: GSP vs. Diaz will take place on Mar. 16 at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
