Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Conor McGregor are busy preparing for their Aug. 26 megafight and the pair of combat sports superstars each released a sample of training footage.
Mayweather sent out an 18-second clip on his social media platforms of him doing a hand speed and reflex drill on a double-end bag, while McGregor posted a one-minute video of him working on a teardrop heavy bag and a conventional heavy bag.
If you’re the type of person thinking McGregor has a snowball’s chance in hell in a boxing match against one of the best to ever lace up a pair of gloves, you’ll be encouraged by the stark speed contrast in the videos.
If you believe it’s within the realm of possibility McGregor can pull off the massive upset, you won’t read too much into how the fighters look.
Mayweather’s video was accompanied with the caption: “I know I’m not the same fighter I was 20 years ago, I’m not the same fighter I was 10 years ago… As a matter of fact, I’m not the same fighter I was 5 years ago, I’m just an old legend putting in work in 16 oz gloves.”
McGregor saw Mayweather’s video and wasn’t impressed.
McGregor can be heard saying, “All day,” when ripping body shots on the conventional heavy bag in his video.
