SAINT-ADELE, Que. -- Canada's Olympic moguls champion Alex Bilodeau is putting his sabbatical on hold for one weekend.

The 24-year-old from Rosemere, Que., will compete in this weekend's Canada Post Grand Prix at Ski Mont Gabriel.

"The course is in great shape and I love competing at home in front of Quebec fans," Bilodeau said in a statement. "And the fact that it fits into my training plans, it's an opportunity I can't miss."

Bilodeau is taking a break from competing this season to build up his conditioning, spare some pounding on his knees and work on a university degree before starting next season on his push toward the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

The world dual moguls champion trained on the FIS World Cup course Thursday and he and his coach Michel Hamelin agreed that the dual mogul event would be a good complement to his training program for the season.
