LILLEHAMMER, Norway — Norway totally dominated its home races on the cross-country skiing World Cup Saturday, with Martin Johnsrud Sundby and Therese Johaug leading podium sweeps in both the men’s and women’s events.
Sundby won the men’s 10-kilometre freestyle event in 22 minutes 55.8 seconds, with Finn Haagen Krogh coming 2.2 seconds behind and Sjur Rothe finishing 6.4 seconds behind. Sweden’s Calle Halfvarsson led early but fell behind and finished fourth.
Alex Harvey of Saint Ferreol les Neiges, Que., was the top Canadian in 33rd spot. The 26-year-old sits 11th overall in the mini-tour with one race remaining.
In the women’s 5K event, Johaug finished in 12:33.7, just 0.3 seconds ahead of six-time Olympic champion Marit Bjoergen. Fellow Norwegian Heidi Weng was more than 10 seconds behind in third.
Sweden’s Charlotte Kalla came fourth.
