AICHI, Japan — Canada’s Madeline Edwards and Zhao Kai Pang won gold in ice dancing Sunday at an ISU Junior Grand Prix, their sixth consecutive Grand Prix medal.

Edwards, from Port Moody, B.C., and Pang, from Burnaby, B.C., recorded a score of 134.42 points for their first victory, virtually securing them a spot in the Junior Grand Prix Final.

"It feels amazing to get the gold," Edwards said. "It is one of the big highlights of our career. We just felt really relaxed in our free skate today and really into it."

Alla Loboda and Pavel Drodz of Russia were second with 133.98 points, while Americans Rachel Parsons and Michael Parsons, leaders after the short dance, finished third with 131.42.

Edwards and Pang were bronze medallists at the world junior championships last season.

Lauren Collins of Minesing, Ont., and Shane Firus of North Vancouver, B.C., were sixth.

Nicolas Nadeau of Boisbriand, Que., finished fifth in men’s singles, climbing five spots after finishing 10th in the short program.
