SCHLADMING, Austria — Stacey Cook posted the fastest time in Saturday’s final training session for the women’s downhill at the Alpine skiing world championships.

The American timed 1 minute, 50.87 seconds on the 3.05-kilometre Streicher course to lead Marion Rolland of France by 1.83. Stefanie Moser of Austria came 2.34 back in third.

Austria’s Regina Sterz, who led the first two training sessions, finished more than three seconds behind Cook.

Only 22 racers took part in the third session. Tina Maze of Slovenia, Maria Hoefl-Riesch of Germany, Lara Gut of Switzerland and Anna Fenninger of Austria were among skiers that opted to rest.
