A van crashed into a crowd of people in Barcelona’s historic Las Ramblas district on Thursday, leaving at least 13 dead and 100 injured.

Spanish police are investigating the bloodshed at the popular tourist spot as a terror attack.

In response, several athletes and teams from around the world expressed their condolences on Twitter.

U.S. men’s basketball teams from Oregon State, Clemson and Arizona were staying at a hotel in Barcelona, near where the attack took place. Team officials said everyone was safe.

Hockey Night in Canada‘s David Amber was staying at the same hotel and tweeted as events were taking place.
