Gold medallist Moyse to receive Order of P.E.I.

CHARLOTTETOWN — Two-time Olympic gold medallist Heather Moyse will be among three recipients of the Order of P.E.I. in September.

Moyse of Summerside will receive the honour at a special ceremony at Government House in Charlottettown.

Moyse and Kaillie Humphries took home gold for bobsled during the most recent Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Other recipients of the 2014 Order of P.E.I. include Wayne Hambly of Charlottetown and Wade MacLauchlan of West Covehead.

The provincial government says Hambly is an entrepreneur and humanitarian who has served on a number of boards, including the United Way.

MacLauchlan is a former president of the University of Prince Edward Island and an advocate for education.
