MONACO — IOC President Thomas Bach says the Olympic body is prepared to take action against any Russian athletes or officials involved in doping if accusations of systematic cheating and corruption in the country are proven to be true.

Bach met with World Anti-Doping Agency President Craig Reedie on Thursday to discuss the allegations of Russian doping made by German television channel ARD and French sports daily L’Equipe.

Bach said the International Olympic Committee contacted the ethics commission of the International Association of Athletics Federations, which is investigating the allegations.

Bach said, if the IAAF inquiry determines that Russian athletes or officials involved in the Olympics were guilty of doping violations, "the IOC will act."

The head of Russia’s anti-doping agency, meanwhile, said there was no proof of wrongdoing.
