Kaigun early favourite at Ricoh Woodbine

TORONTO – Kaigun has been installed as the early 5-2 favourite for the $1-million Ricoh Woodbine Mile turf race.

Kaigun, a four-year-old gelding, will be ridden by Patrick Husbands of Brampton, Ont., and break from the No. 5 post Sunday at Woodbine Racetrack.

Owner Gary Barber will also have 7-2 second favourite Jack Milton in the 11-horse field. Jack Milton and jockey Javier Castellan start from the No. 9 post.

Grand Arch, the 4-1 third pick with David Moran aboard, goes from the No. 11 post.

The winner will earn $600,000.

Queen’s Plate winner Lexie Lou, also owned by Barber, headlines the 10-horse field in the $300,000 Northern Dancer for fillies and mares. The mile-and-half turf race is also on Sunday’s card.
