GLASGOW — Police in Scotland say a man has been arrested over an alleged assault following an altercation at the Commonwealth Games athletes’ village in Glasgow.
Officers were called to the site at around 6 a.m. (0500 GMT) on Wednesday.
Police told The Associated Press on Wednesday evening that the unnamed 29-year-old man has been “arrested and is currently detained in police custody in connection with an alleged assault following an altercation within the athlete’s village.”
In Scottish law, an arrest leads to the accused appearing in court. The man arrested Wednesday is set to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday.
