Following UFC 152 in Toronto this past weekend the Ontario Athletic Commission released a list of medical suspensions and the most notable name was UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
Jones was suspended indefinitely and needs an x-ray of his right arm before he can be cleared medically. Jones had his arm hyperextended after getting caught in a Vitor Belfort armbar early in their main event fight.
At the post-fight press conference UFC president Dana White said he believed there was something wrong with Jones’ elbow to which Jones added doctors told him there could be some nerve damage to his bicep.
Lightweight Evan Dunham was suspended 60 days for a deep cut on forehead after a decision loss to Canadian TJ Grant.
Charles Oliveira, Simeon Thoresen and Charlie Brenneman were also suspended 60 days and need an MRI for medical clearance after getting knocked out by Cub Swanson, Seth Baczynski and Kyle Noke, respectively.
Belfort, Joseph Benavidez and Lance Benoist were each suspended 30 days for facial lacerations, while Igor Pokrajac was also given a 30-day suspension after getting submitted by Vinicius Magalhaes with an armbar.
All other fighters on the card were given mandatory 14-day suspensions after competing.
