The 2020 NHL Draft is being moved ahead to Oct. 6 and 7, with the first round occurring on the former, per Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

The entry draft had been tentatively scheduled to take place online from Oct. 9-10.

The New York Rangers won the first pick after the second phase of the draft lottery last month, giving them a chance to take the projected top selection, Alexis Lafreniere.
