OHL Roundup: Clark powers Steelheads past Generals

OSHAWA, Ont. – Everett Clark finished what Nathan Bastian started.

Clark scored in overtime after Bastian tied the game with two seconds remaining in the third period as the Mississauga Steelheads edged the Oshawa Generals 5-4 on Wednesday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Daniel Muzito-Bagenda had a goal and two assists for Mississauga (30-25-4), while Ryan McLeod and Mason Marchment also found the back of the net.

Anthony Cirelli, Alexandre Renaud, Domenic Commisso and Kenny Huether all scored as Oshawa (21-30-8) built a 4-3 lead by the second intermission.

Jack Flinn made 26 saves for the win, while Jeremy Brodeur stopped 27 shots for the Generals.

The Steelheads did not score on their two power plays and Oshawa went 1 for 6 with the man advantage.

BULLDOGS 4 BATTALION 3 (OT)

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Connor Walters scored 34 seconds into overtime as Hamilton slipped past the Battalion.

Matt Luff, Niki Petti and MacKenzie Entwistle had goals in regulation time for the Bulldogs (22-30-7).

Mathew Santos, Mike Amadio and Brett Hargrave replied for North Bay (30-18-9).

FIREBIRDS 5 GREYHOUNDS 3

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. — Mathieu Henderson put away the winner at the 13:11 mark of the third period as Flint topped the Greyhounds.

Stephan Seeger and Luke Kirwan also scored in the third for the Firebirds (18-33-6). Will Bitten and Cullen Mercer rounded out the attack.

Tim Gettinger, Boris Katchouk and Jack Kopacka supplied the offence for Sault Ste. Marie (27-22-8).
