BARRIE, Ont. — It was a big night for Calgary Flames prospect Andrew Mangiapane on Saturday.
He scored a hat trick as the Barrie Colts won their third straight with a 5-1 victory over the Saginaw Spirit in Ontario Hockey League action.
Zachary Magwood opened the scoring in the first period for the Colts (12-6-0), who also got a goal from Ben Hawerchuk.
Connor Brown had a power-play goal for Saginaw (8-10-2).
Mackenzie Blackwood made 33 saves to pick up the win in net. David Ovsjannikov turned away 27 shots for the Spirit.
Barrie scored once on three power plays while Saginaw was 1 for 6.

ERIE, Pa. — Taylor Raddysh scored the winner on the power play as the Otters snapped London’s five-game winning streak.
Erik Cernak tied the game 1-1 for Erie (16-2-1), with Alex DeBrincat adding an empty netter. It was the third straight win for the Otters.
Christian Dvorak scored his 14th of the season for the Knights (13-3-2).

HAMILTON — Leo Lazrev stopped all 25 shots he faced and Austen Keating scored twice as Ottawa blanked the Bulldogs.
Travis Barron, Sam Studnicka, Trent Mallette and Dante Salituro supplied the rest of the offence for the 67’s (12-7-1).
Connor Hicks kicked out 26 shots for Hamilton (6-12-1).

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — Josh Ho-Sang scored a power-play goal for the IceDogs in the third period as they doubled up Oshawa.
Johnny Corneil, on the power play, Aaron Haydon and Anthony DiFruscia, into an empty net, supplied the rest of the Niagara (10-8-1) offence as it scored four goals in the third period.
Domenic Commisso and Michael Dal Colle, shorthanded, had goals for the Generals (9-10-3), who have now lost four straight.

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — Greg Betzold and Adam Timleck both scored twice as the Petes doubled up Sudbury.
Kyle Jenkins had a goal and three assists and Hunter Garlent had a goal and two assists for Peterborough (8-9-3). Dominik Masin and Daniel Nikandrov also scored while Jonathan Ang tacked on three assists.
David Levin, Michael Pezzetta, Brady Pataki and Danny Desrochers scored for the Wolves (5-14-1).

SARNIA, Ont. — Pavel Zacha and Jordan Kyrou both scored twice and Justin Fazio turned aside all 24 shots he faced as the Sting shut out Guelph.

Bradley Van Schubert made 35 saves for the Storm (2-16-1).

FLINT, Mich. — Blake Speers scored a power-play goal in overtime and added two assists as Sault Ste. Marie slipped past the Firebirds.
