CANUCKS RETURN WITH 58 GAMES ON ROGERS SPORTSNET PACIFIC AND ROGERS SPORTSNET VANCOUVER HOCKEY THIS SEASON

Sportsnet Pacific returns with 45 games, plus 13 on Rogers Sportsnet Vancouver Hockey

VANCOUVER (September 13, 2010) – Rogers Sportsnet will once again be the home for the Vancouver Canucks with a 58-game regular-season package starting with the Florida Panthers visiting Rogers Arena on Monday, October 11 at 7 p.m. (PT) on Sportsnet Pacific and Sportsnet Pacific HD.

Rogers Sportsnet ONE subscribers will watch Canucks games on its companion channel, Rogers Sportsnet Vancouver Hockey.

The Canucks will debut on Sportsnet Vancouver Hockey on Tuesday, October 19 at 6 p.m. (PT) against the Minnesota Wild.

“We are excited that our partnership with the Canucks, which started with the launch of Rogers Sportsnet in 1998, has evolved to the point, where we can offer their great fans 58 Canucks games plus pre-game and post-game shows,” said Doug Beeforth, President, Rogers Sportsnet. “This is another example of how we give fans the “Hockey That Matters,” with Sportsnet Pacific, and Sportsnet ONE’s companion channel, Rogers Sportsnet Vancouver Hockey.” In addition to the 58 regular-season games, the Sportsnet Pacific and Sportsnet Vancouver Hockey channels will also broadcast five pre-season games as follows:

• @ Calgary Tuesday, September 21 @ 6 p.m. (PT) (Sportsnet Pacific)

• vs. Edmonton Wednesday, September 22 @ 7 p.m. (PT) (Sportsnet Vancouver Hockey)

• @ Edmonton Sunday, September 26 @ 5 p.m. (PT) (Sportsnet Pacific)

• vs. San Jose Tuesday, September 28 @ 7 p.m. (PT) (Sportsnet Vancouver Hockey)

• @ Anaheim Friday, October 1 @ 7 p.m. (PT) (Sportsnet Pacific)

Rogers Sportsnet ONE, a new 24-hour national sports channel that launched on August 14th, will broadcast 13 games on Sportsnet Vancouver Hockey, the companion channel to Sportsnet ONE, while Sportsnet Pacific will carry 45. All games will be in high definition.

Canucks broadcasts on Sportsnet Pacific and Sportsnet Vancouver Hockey will feature 18 divisional-rival games including 10 against Canadian-based teams. Sportsnet Pacific and Sportsnet Vancouver Hockey will offer several key match-ups including:

• Alberta clash x 6 – Canucks battle their two Canadian Northwest Division rivals six times starting with the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday, November 2 at 6 p.m. (PT)

• Habs x 2 – Canucks face the Montreal Canadiens twice this season starting on Tuesday, November 9 at 4:30 p.m. (PT)

• Ovie and the Caps – Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals host the Canucks on Friday, January 14 at 4 p.m. (PT)

• Miller Time – Two of the league’s best goalies face-off when Roberto Luongo leads the Canucks into HSBC Arena to play Ryan Miller and the Buffalo Sabres on Monday, November 15 at 4 p.m. (PT)
