LEAFS NUMBERS CONTINUE TO SOAR ON SPORTSNET ONTARIO

Sportsnet Leafs audience above season average compared to 2009-2010

TORONTO (December 8, 2010) – Rogers Sportsnet remains the “Hockey That Matters” network with an average of 721,000 (BBM 2+) for Toronto Maple Leafs regional games this season, a 10 per cent increase on the 656,000 (BBM 2+) average for the 2009-2010 campaign.

Sportsnet recorded 770,000 (BBM 2+) for the Leafs dramatic 5-4 comeback win in a shootout over the Washington Capitals on Monday, December 6. The largest Leafs audience this season was 871,000 for the October 15th game against the New York Rangers.

In addition, Leafs Connected post-game coverage following the Leafs-Capitals game drew 464,000, 33 per cent above this season’s average, on Sportsnet Ontario. Leafs Connected post-game audience average this season following Leafs games on Sportsnet Ontario is 349,000.

The Leafs next game on Sportsnet Ontario is Tuesday, December 14 at 8:30 p.m. (ET) when they visit Taylor Hall and the Edmonton Oilers.
