SPORTSNET CONNECTS YOU TO GSP’S RETURN TO THE OCTAGON AT UFC 124 INCLUDING ONE HOUR PRE-FIGHT SHOW
Hosted by RJ Broadhead with features from Montreal with “Showdown” Joe Ferraro
TORONTO (December 9, 2010) – Rogers Sportsnet prepares fans for Georges St-Pierre’s defence of his UFC welterweight crown with UFC 124 Countdown Canada on Saturday, December 11 at 9 p.m. (ET)/6 p.m. (PT) on the Rogers Sportsnet East, Ontario, West and Pacific channels.
St-Pierre will be making his fifth straight title defence when he battles Josh Koscheck on the main card of UFC 124. The two were the opposing coaches in the recent season of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter. The two had previously met in the octagon at UFC 74 in August 2007 where St-Pierre won in a unanimous decision.
UFC 124 Countdown Canada hosted by R.J. Broadhead will feature an in-depth look at the UFC’s fourth trip to the Bell Centre in Montreal. “Showdown” Joe Ferraro will be on location in Montreal, along with some special guests including “The Outlaw” Dan Hardy and Canadian fighter Jason “The Athlete” MacDonald. Ferraro will also have the latest news from UFC President Dana White, including details on UFC 131 in Toronto at the Rogers Centre in April 2011. In addition, Ferraro will go one-on-one with Jake Shields who is expected to take on the winner of the St-Pierre and Koscheck fight.
Sportsnet Connected will also be providing coverage leading up to UFC 124 with nightly reports during the evening and prime editions starting on Thursday, December 9.
