RAPTORS LOOK TO BOUNCE PISTONS ON SPORTSNET THIS WEDNESDAY
Raptors overcame 25-point deficit for their win over Detroit in last meeting
TORONTO (December 20, 2010) – Toronto Raptors hope to score another historic win when they host the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, December 22 at 7 p.m. (ET)/4 p.m. (PT) on the Rogers Sportsnet East, Ontario, West and Pacific channels.
Matt Devlin has the play-by-play call while former NBA player Leo Rautins handles the analysis.
Devlin and Rautins will preview the match-up during the early edition of Sportsnet Connected at 6:30 p.m. (ET)/3:30 p.m. (PT) and return for the post-game wrap-up during the primetime edition of Connected.
Raptors last played the Pistons two weeks ago and sparked the largest comeback in franchise history in a 120-116 win. Toronto trailed Detroit by 25 points midway through the third quarter, only to rally back by outscoring the Pistons 56-27 for the rest of the game. Previously, the biggest comeback by Toronto was a 22-point deficit against the Los Angeles Clippers during a 104-89 win last season. Toronto went 4-0 against Detroit during the 2009-2010 campaign.
Detroit is coming off a 111-108 overtime win over the New Orleans Hornets on Sunday. Pistons roster features former first round picks Charlie Villanueva and Tracey McGrady who were both drafted by the Raptors. Villanueva has made 51 three-pointers this season to lead the club.
Sportsnet’s Raptors schedule for the rest of December features three road games on Rogers Sportsnet ONE.
Sportsnet ONE, a new 24-hour national sports channel, will broadcast 23 Raptor games this season while the Sportsnet East, Ontario, West and Pacific channels will televise another 12 for a total of 35. All games will be broadcast in high definition.
