BROCK LESNAR COACHES THE NEW SEASON OF THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER WEDNESDAY ON ROGERS SPORTSNET

Sportsnet will be the only place in Canada to see this series in High Definition

TORONTO (March 29, 2011) – UFC bad boy Brock Lesnar headlines the new season of The Ultimate Fighter beginning on Wednesday, March 30 at 9 p.m. (ET)/6 p.m. (PT) in High Definition on Rogers Sportsnet East, Sportsnet Ontario, Sportsnet West and Sportsnet Pacific.

Lesnar, the former UFC heavyweight champion, will join Junior dos Santos as the two coaches who will be guiding a group of hopefuls looking for that one UFC contract and the title of The Ultimate Fighter. It is expected that a fight between Lesnar and dos Santos will headline Vancouver’s UFC 131 in June. The winner of that bout will then get a title shot versus current heavyweight champion Cain Valezquez.

Lesnar was UFC’s heavyweight champion for almost two years before losing to Cain Valezquez at UFC 121 in October 2010. Dos Santos has an undefeated record in the UFC and has won the knockout of the night award twice in his seven career fights.

This 13th season of The Ultimate Fighter will feature 14 welterweights including Edmonton native Ryan McGillivray. The competitors will battle it out each week leading up to the finale on June 4, 2011. Former Ultimate Fighter winners include former UFC light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin and Rashad Evans as well as English middleweight fighter Michael “The Count” Bisping.
