CHELSEA AND ARSENAL HIGHLIGHT SOCCER ACTION SATURDAY ON ROGERS SPORTSNET
Chelsea plays Stoke City, followed by Arsenal v. Blackburn
TORONTO (March 31, 2011) – Chelsea looks for their fourth win in a row in the Barclays Premier League when they battle Stoke City on Rogers Sportsnet East, Sportsnet Ontario, Sportsnet West and Sportsnet Pacific on Saturday, April 2 at 9:30 a.m. (ET)/6:30 a.m. (PT).
Sportsnet will have even more soccer action on Saturday, April 2 when Arsenal entertains Blackburn at 12 p.m. (ET)/9 a.m. (PT) on Sportsnet ONE. Gerry Dobson and Craig Forrest will host SoccerCentral and preview the match-ups starting at 9:30 a.m. (ET)/6:30 a.m. (PT) followed by a post-game show on ONE at 2:30 p.m. (ET)/11:30 a.m. (PT).
Chelsea is currently in third place, one point ahead of Manchester City with one game in hand. They are coming off victories over Manchester City, Blackpool and Manchester United in March. Stoke City won their first league match in over a month when they shutout Newcastle United 4-0 on March 19. Stoke City are currently in 10th place in the standings.
Arsenal is comfortably in second place in the standings, five points behind league-leading Manchester United and four points ahead of Chelsea. The Gunners have not lost a league match since falling 1-0 to Manchester United on December 13, 2010. Meanwhile, Blackburn is currently in 13th place in the standings with 33 points, but with only 3 points separating the bottom seven teams, relegation is still a possibility.
