GEORGES ST- PIERRE HEADLINES UFC PRIME TIME ON ROGERS SPORTSNET’S ULTIMATE WEDNESDAYS STARTING TOMORROW

Sportsnet will have the first airing in Canada of each episode of the three-part series

TORONTO (April 12, 2011) – Rogers Sportsnet takes you behind the scenes with Georges St-Pierre as he gets ready for UFC 129 in the three-part series UFC Prime Time starting Wednesday, April 13 on Sportsnet East, Ontario, West and Pacific at 8:30 p.m. (ET)/8:30 p.m. (MT)/8:30 p.m. (PT).

The series continues with part two on Wednesday, April 20 on Sportsnet East, Ontario, West and Pacific at 8:30 p.m. (ET)/8:30 p.m. (MT)/8:30 p.m. (PT). The finale will air on Wednesday, April 27 on Sportsnet East and Ontario at 7 p.m. (ET), Sportsnet West at 9:30 p.m. (MT) and Sportsnet Pacific at 9:30 p.m. (PT)

Georges St-Pierre, the reigning Welterweight champion of the UFC, will face Jake Shields at UFC 129 in Toronto’s Rogers Centre on April 30. Shields has won 15 consecutive professional matches while St-Pierre has successfully defended his title five times since defeating Matt Sera at UFC 83 in April 2008.

UFC 129 will also feature another championship bout as Canadian Mark Hominick battles current featherweight champ Jose Aldo. MMA Connected will have a 30-minute special on Hominick called Road To The Rogers Centre on Wednesday, April 13 on Sportsnet East, Ontario, West and Pacific at 8 p.m. local.

Hominick is also writing a weekly blog for Sportsnet.ca in the month leading up to UFC 129. His first one, entitled Full 180, detailed how much his life has changed since he found out that he would be getting his first ever UFC title shot.
