ROGERS SPORTSNET BEGINS UFC 129 COVERAGE MONDAY WITH UFC CONNECTED FEATURING GEORGES ST-PIERRE

Coverage during the week of UFC 129 will also include special shows, live streaming and the preliminary fights of UFC 129

TORONTO (April 21, 2010) – MMA Connected evolves into UFC Connected on Monday, April 25th and will debut with a Georges St-Pierre special at 7:00 p.m. (ET)/4:00 p.m. (PT) on Rogers Sportsnet East, Sportsnet Ontario, Sportsnet West and Sportsnet Pacific.

The show is rebranded as UFC Connected as part of Sportsnet’s renewal with the UFC. For Monday’s show, host “Showdown” Joe Ferraro will focus on St-Pierre as he gets ready to defend his welterweight crown versus Jake Shields in the main event at UFC 129 in Toronto on Saturday, April 29.

Other features during that episode of UFC Connected will include a breakdown of St-Pierre’s legacy in the sport if he beats Shields, a look at St-Pierre’s pre-fight training regiment and an interview with the last person to beat him, Matt Serra.

Sportsnet’s television coverage surrounding UFC 129 will include the following:

· The Pre-Fight Press Conference on Wednesday, April 27 at 1:00 p.m. (ET)/10:00 a.m. (PT) on the East, Ontario, West and Pacific channels

· The Official Weigh-In on Friday, April 29 at 4:00 p.m. (ET)/1:00 p.m. (PT) on the East, Ontario, West and Pacific channels

· A pre-fight show on Saturday, April 30 at 7 p.m. (ET)/4 p.m. (PT) on the East, Ontario, West and Pacific channels

· The preliminary fights of UFC 129 on Saturday, April 30 at 8 p.m. (ET)/5 p.m. (PT) on the East, Ontario, West and Pacific channels
