ROGERS SPORTSNET BROADCASTS ‘THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER’ FINALE EXCLUSIVELY IN HD THIS SATURDAY
The night's card will also include the UFC debut of Anthony Pettis
TORONTO (June 2, 2011) – Brock Lesnar protégé Tony Ferguson looks to be named The Ultimate Fighter when he battles Ramsey Nijem in the series finale live on Saturday, June 4 at 9 p.m. (ET)/6 p.m. (PT) on Rogers Sportsnet East, Sportsnet Ontario, Sportsnet West and Sportsnet Pacific.
Ferguson and Nijem were among 14 welterweights who were coached throughout the season by Lesnar and Junior dos Santos. The winner will look to join past Ultimate Fighter champs who have gone on to success in the UFC such as Forrest Griffin, Rashad Evans and Michael Bisping.
The card for the Ultimate Fighter finale will also feature the much-anticipated UFC debut of Anthony “Showtime” Pettis in a lightweight tilt versus Clay “The Carpenter” Guida. If Guida wins, he is expected to get a title shot versus the winner of the Frankie Edgar-Gray Maynard rematch set to go later this year.
