BLUE JAYS NUMBERS FLYING HIGH ON ROGERS SPORTSNET THIS SEASON
Audience numbers for April and May up 36% over the same period last season
TORONTO (June 16, 2011) – Audience numbers for Toronto Blue Jays games on Rogers Sportsnet jumped 36 per cent (PPM 2+) in April and May compared to last year. The Blue Jays average audience for April and May of 2011 was 506,000, compared to 382,000 for the same period in 2010.
"With the hitting exploits of Jose Bautista leading the way for the Blue Jays, fans across the country are flocking to watch Canada's team." says Navaid Mansuri, Vice President, Finance and Sports Programming, Rogers Broadcasting Ltd. "The team is filled with other exciting hitters like Adam Lind and JP Arencibia so we expect continued success."
The Jays begin the first of four straight inter-league series when they head on the road to take on Joey Votto and the Cincinnati Reds starting Friday, June 17 at 6:30 p.m. (ET)/3:30 p.m. (PT) on Sportsnet East, Sportsnet Ontario, Sportsnet West and Sportsnet Pacific channels.
