COUPLE OF LIGHTWEIGHTS HIGHLIGHT THE PRELIMINARY FIGHTS OF UFC 132 ON ROGERS SPORTSNET

Sportsnet will be the only network in Canada airing the prelims of UFC 132 in High Definition

TORONTO (June 29, 2011) – Melvin Guillard looks to win his fifth fight in a row when he battles Shane Roller as one of the preliminary fights for UFC 132 on Saturday, July 2 at 8:00 p.m. (ET)/5:00 p.m. (PT) on Rogers Sportsnet East, Sportsnet Ontario, Sportsnet West and Sportsnet Pacific.

Sportsnet is the only network in Canada broadcasting the UFC preliminary fights in HD.

Lightweights Guillard and Roller are both coming off winning Knockout Of The Night honours in their previous fights. Guillard for his first round TKO of Evan Dunham at UFC: Fight For The Troops 2 and Roller for his knockout of Thiago Tavares at UFC Live 2. Guillard is currently on a five fight winning streak and has only lost one fight in the last three years. The other preliminary fight will feature George Sotiropoulos and Rafeal dos Anjos in another lightweight tilt.

In the main card of UFC 132, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz looks to get back on track with a fight versus former Ultimate Fighter winner Ryan Bader. Ortiz has not won since his TKO of Ken Shamrock in October 2006. Meanwhile, Bader is coming off his first professional loss after 12 wins in a row. He was submitted by Jon Jones at UFC 126. The Bantamweight championship will also be up for grabs on the main card as current belt-holder Dominick Cruz will take on Urijah Faber.

Sportsnet Connected will also provide coverage leading up to UFC 132 with nightly reports hosted by “Showdown” Joe Ferraro during the evening and prime editions starting on Wednesday, June 29.
