Rogers Sportsnet Kicks Off Canada Men’s Soccer Team Quest for the World Cup
– Schedule includes games against St. Lucia, Puerto Rico and St. Kitts and Nevis –
– Gerry Dobson and Craig Forrest will have the call for all four matches –
– All three of Canada’s home games will be broadcast in High Definition –
TORONTO (August 30, 2011) – Team Canada men’s soccer team's quest for a berth in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, starts Friday, Sept. 2 at 8 p.m. (ET)/5 p.m. (PT) on Sportsnet ONE against St. Lucia in a World Cup qualifying match.
Gerry Dobson will have the play-by-play while former Canadian goalkeeper Craig Forrest will provide the analysis. Ryan Leslie will be on hand as the sideline reporter.
The other three World Cup Qualifiers that will be broadcast on Sportsnet ONE are:
• Puerto Rico v Canada Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 8 p.m. (ET)/5 p.m. (PT)*
• Canada v Puerto Rico Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. (ET)/4 p.m. (PT)
• Canada v St. Kitts and Nevis Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. (ET)/4 p.m. (PT)
*Game will not be in High Definition
For this round of World Cup qualifying action, Canada is in a group with Puerto Rico, Saint Lucia and Saint Kitts and Nevis. Each team will play each other twice and the squad with the best record will advance to the next round.
