The Year in Sports 2011: Sportsnet special collector’s edition on newsstands now

TORONTO (Dec. 8, 2011) – As the year draws to a close, Sportsnet magazine reflects on the triumphs and tragedies in The Year in Sports 2011. This premium commemorative edition is packed with more than 125 stunning images that defined the past year, with several Sportsnet experts sharing their most memorable sports moments.
“I hope that this special edition will remind us that, amid inevitable debates and controversies, there is much to celebrate in sports,” writes Steve Maich, Editor-in-Chief of Sportsnet.
Columnist Stephen Brunt provides an essay on the year that was, beginning with the controversial hit that Sidney Crosby absorbed on New Year’s Day and ending with the return of the NBA. Sportsnet experts Gare Joyce, Scott Feschuk, Scott Morrison, Evanka Osmak, Michael Grange, Jamie Campbell, Jim Lang, John Molinaro and Joe Ferraro all reflect on the highlights and lowlights of 2011.
